Hambagu (ハンバーグ), also known as Japanese Hamburger Steak, is a fusion food of Japanese and Western cooking style. It is a little different than your usual Hamburger. This dish is a popular dish that can enjoyed at home.

Ingredients for Hambagu
- 1 pound of Ground Beef
- 1/2 Yellow Onion (minced)
- 1 large Egg (whisked)
- 3 tablespoons of Panko Breadcrumb
- 3 tablespoons of Milk
- Dash of Salt and Paper to taste
- 2 teaspoons of Vegetable Oil
Preparation
- In a small sauce pan, cook onion with medium heat until the onion looks golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mixed Panko and milk and set a side.
- In a medium size bowl, add ground beef, cooked onion, egg and Panko mixed together. Mixed well until everything corporate.
- Use hand make individual piece of hambagu with size wide around 2.5 inches.
- In a large fry pan, add vegetable oil with medium heat. Add hambagu into a pan and cover with a lid. Let it cooks for approximately 2 – 3 minutes each side or until looks golden brown.
Ingredients for Hambagu Sauce
- 3 tablespoons of Ketchup
- 2 tablespoons of Tonkatsu Sauce
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
Preparation
Add all ingredients in a small sauce pan with medium heat. Mixed well until everything dissolved. Let it cool for about 2 – 3 minutes before use.
