It holiday season is almost here and our family will have a special dinner together and it time for me to set the table and cook food. This holiday, I set as fall and winter theme with blue tablecloth and decorate the table with pine cones. I use white plates with yellow napkins to cut out the blue color for a little bit.
The main dish, I made for this holiday season is Lamb Leg Roasted and I have 3 simple side dishes; Mashed Potatoes, Basic Quinoa, and Steam Broccoli
Lamb Leg Roasted is a pop star of the table and has savory and salty taste from Dijon mustard marinade sauce that I let the leg of lamb marinade over night to get all flavor go through the meat. Rosemary and others herbs that I put in the marinade ingredients smell delicious while it cooking in the oven and when serving on the table.
Mashed Potatoes is always a great side dish of all time. It is not only good side dish with this Lamb Leg Roasted, it is also good for our Rib Eye Steak with Mint Pesto and others main dishes as well. Smooth and creamy go well with meat main dish plus potato has low calories and good source of vitamins and minerals.
Basic Quinoa has rich source of minerals, fiber and less calories, it is a good side dish or I can eat this menu as a main dish with roasted chicken breast when I am on weight watch program. It is really easy to make and taste very good.
Steamed Broccoli, this side dish is very easy to make, cut broccoli in a bite pieces, then steam for about 10 – 12 minutes or until tender as your desire. Broccoli has high in fiber and I think it is a great combination when I eat big meat meal.
