Camping at Rainbow Spring in Florida State Park

This camping was one of my favorite activities with family and get away the city and go back to nature with high air oxygen out there. You will hear bird sound all day and all night.

Rainbow Springs, formerly known as Blue Spring, is a first-magnitude artesian spring formation in Marion County, Florida, United States, several miles north of the city of Dunnellon. Rainbow Springs is the focal point of Rainbow Springs State Park. The spring formation is the fourth-largest in Florida, and produces over 490 million gallons of water daily. Rainbow Springs forms the headwaters of the Rainbow River, which empties into the Withlacoochee River.

The area we stayed was called “RV and Camp Ground” area. This area provided with basic facilities like grill and picnic table and a couple of restrooms location. Of course, we have our own spot for camping and we bring all of tools we need; tents, light, fire woods (you can also get it there at the office and you just need to donate some $6 – $10 if you like), blankets and some food that you can be able to cook on the grill. Our family traditional love to prepare some “Pork Satay” in marinade sauce and cook on the grill. We can grill and eat that food all night when we hungry.

There are many activities that you can have fun in the park for example: cannon or kayak (can be able to rent at the office or you can bring them on your own. However, you might need to rent it early because the office open late and if you rent in the afternoon, you might not have enough time to use it due to return time should be before 5 pm or 6 pm. We rent kayak the day earlier and they gave us a key to get kayak and we can play it the next morning. This way, we have whole day to have fun and I think we got it more than enough). The river is really close by the camp ground only 50 maters away and we walked there. there are more picnic tables and seats that you can be able to chill to see sun set at the river view. We saw a big eagle that looking for food in the river as well. It was really close to that eagle. The river is spring clean water that you can swim for fishing as well.. It is also certain area.for swim and will have a warming sign for safety also.

This trip it very special that we went with my parents and they had so much fun kayaking as well. It was also my first experience for kayaking. I prefer to do in the morning less people in the review and nice weather. We love to spend time and see beautiful thing underneath the clear water and you can see through deep down to the bottom of the river.

If you are looking for fun outdoor activities, I prefer go camping at the State Park!
